As most of you know by now, we lost Grandpa Gary on July 31st. The cancer just could not be contained. He never said "why me" and he never complained. He just said "what is, is."

The Hatch family handled the services for him almost without help. Program, music and a great Hatch Feast afterwards. The number of people who came to pay their respects was remarkable. We took him home to Taylor for the services and for burial. His grave is by Trapper's and three of his other brothers and two sisters, the Hatch parents, grandparents, great grandparents, uncles and cousins are all very near. Somehow that is a comforting thought.
We have asked anyone who has stories to tell about Gary please send them to Jo Ann and we will put them together with his life story. We feel it is something worth preserving.

I forget to write on this blog, but enjoy reading others, so guess we need to contribute.
Nothing new with GP and his cancer. We will have a PET SCAN in three weeks and know then if the new Chemo is doing any good. Remember us in your prayers.
We had a happy-sad Christmas, as many of you know. The happy part was a couple of good days spent with all our family except Matt's bunch who are in Alabama.
Did you all know before you started your families that those kids and grandkids will bring you more happiness and more stress than you can almost stand? If we knew that before, no one would have kids!
Anyway, in our old age, we find that just a smile from a great grand, or a hug and an "I love you" from a grand can make our day bright and happy.

We are still struggling with GP and his cancer. Since the last type chemo didn't work, we are arranging for another try with another new chemo. Lots of red tape to get it, but we are working with the oncologist office and hopefully he will have it by next week.
Bad thing is, it will make him sick again. That's what chemo does! We just hope all the bad days he has to go through will be worth it and the "stuff" will stop the cancer.
He is feeling well enough that tomorrow we are going to the temple.

The leaves are falling fast. The world is dry and warm here and the birds need water in their birdbath. Such a life. Watching the leaves fall and the birds drink!
I am trying to learn about this blog thing, so be patient.
